Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (2 March 2005)—According to a recent survey by the IT Governance Institute, 89 percent of respondents who use the international IT security and control framework Control Objectives for Information and related Technology® (COBIT®) are very or quite satisfied with it. To learn from COBIT users’ positive experiences as well as their problems, professionals who use or plan to use COBIT can attend ISACA’s third COBIT User Convention from 11-12 April 2005 in Brussels, Belgium, at the Radisson SAS Hotel.
Designed for IT executives; CIOs; assurance, compliance and control practitioners; and others who are using COBIT, the two-day event will discuss how COBIT is employed from assurance, governance and security perspectives. Erik Guldentops, professor at the University of Antwerp and chair of the COBIT Steering Committee, will present on COBIT strategy and COBIT products that can help an organization align its business and IT goals.
“To ensure that the business is enabled and value is returned to the enterprise, management must direct and control information technology,” Guldentops said. “COBIT addresses these objectives and helps management maintain a balance between managing risks and realizing benefits.”
In addition to presentations by COBIT experts, the convention features COBIT case studies from the Dutch National Audit Institute and Swiss Life, facilitated group discussions, and roundtable workshops where attendees can share their practical experiences with COBIT, explore solutions to their problems, provide ideas to influence the improvement and expansion of COBIT products, and learn about new COBIT initiatives.
