Sarbanes-Oxley Symposium Near Dallas Highlights IT Controls and Gearing Up for Year Two 

Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (6 July 2005)—Though year one of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance has come and gone for public companies, year two is bringing its own set of challenges and opportunities. Many private companies are also seeing value in increasing control over IT. To help equip organizations with the tools and knowledge needed for successful Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, ISACA® will host Sarbanes-Oxley Symposium: A Focus on IT Controls, 29-30 August 2005, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Irving Texas, USA.

The symposium will feature two programs:

Compliance Issues for First-time Sarbanes-Oxley Programs will cover:

  • The importance of IT governance
  • Control processes
  • The compliance road map
  • Company-level controls
  • Significant deficiencies and material weaknesses
  • Outsourcing and service providers

Leveraging Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance and Gearing Up for Year Two will discuss:

  • Lessons learned from year one
  • Leveraging the compliance effort
  • Application controls
  • What to expect in year two
  • Company case studies

Registration for the Sarbanes-Oxley Symposium is US $600 for ISACA members and US $800 for nonmembers. IT Control Objectives for Sarbanes-Oxley, a free downloadable publication that provides assessment  approaches, IT control objectives for disclosure and financial reporting purposes, and a compliance road map, is available at www.isaca.org/sox.  The program for first-time Sarbanes-Oxley programs will focus on the topics and materials in this book.
