Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (9 December 2008)—ISACA, a professional association serving more than 86,000 IT governance professionals worldwide, has been named a finalist in the 2009 SC Awards program for outstanding achievement in information technology (IT) security. Its Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) designations have both been recognized in the Professional Award category.
Nominations were judged by a panel of 18 chief information security officers (CISOs) at major corporations and large public-sector organizations.
“Security professionals need to continue building their skills throughout their career and ISACA’s CISA and CISM programs are among the best at helping individuals keep their skills fresh,” said SC Magazine Editor-in-Chief Illena Armstrong.
The annual SC Awards have recognized security’s key contributors for more than a decade. Winners of the 2009 award will be announced at an award ceremony in San Francisco on 21 April 2009.
“ISACA’s CISA and CISM credentials help information security professionals stand out from the crowd by demonstrating proven experience and expertise,” said Lynn Lawton, international president of ISACA. “We are honored that the SC Awards program recognized the value of ISACA’s certifications and named them finalists for this distinguished award.”
The CISA designation was established in 1978 and has been earned by more than 60,000 professionals since inception. More than 10,000 professionals have been earned the CISM certification since it was established in 2002. Additional information on ISACA certifications, including the brand new Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) credential, is available at www.isaca.org/certification.
