ISACA’s Virtual Seminar on Electronic Health Records

Free Event on 8 March Brings Experts to Your Desktop

Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (1 March 2011)—ISACA—a global association serving more than 95,000 IT governance, assurance and security professionals—will share tips on electronic health records (EHR) from international IT and business experts at its free virtual seminar on 8 March. Information technology (IT) professionals can sharpen their skills, network with industry leaders and interact with vendors, all without leaving their desks, at ISACA’s virtual conference, titled Best Practices for EHR, on Tuesday, 8 March 2011, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CST).

SearchHealthIT.com, the Health IT Exchange Community, and ISACA have partnered to present this free online seminar featuring prominent healthcare IT and EHR specialists.

Attendees will learn how to effectively implement and manage EHR. Sessions include:

  • HIPAA Compliance: Don’t Get Whacked! Strategies for Staying Off the Hit List
  • Networking for the High-Tech Hospital
  • EHR Incentive Programs Checkpoint: Where We’re Going

During live Q&A sessions, attendees can interact directly with the experts, including:

  • Dee Cantrell from Emory Healthcare, on how facilities can achieve effective use of EHR;
  • Carlos Levya, author of The HITECH/HIPAA Survival Guides, on mobile health security under HIPAA mandates, and privacy and security scenarios to shield liability;
  • Rick Hampton from Partners Healthcare, on how to upgrade a wireless infrastructure to support new devices and demands, and how to best enable real-time clinical information sharing;
  • Robert Anthony from Office of E-Health Standards and Services, who will provide an attestation module walkthrough.

“Successful implementing of EHR processes is a high-priority challenge facing IT professionals in the healthcare field,” said Emil D’Angelo, CISA, CISM, international president of ISACA. “ISACA’s virtual conferences are part of the many free or low-cost educational opportunities ISACA provides on hot-button issues.”

Even though this is a virtual seminar, participants can attend sessions, connect with other attendees and “visit” exhibitor booths just as if attending in person.

Additional information about the free virtual conference is available at www.isaca.org/elearning. Attendees can earn up to four free continuing professional education (CPE) hours. To learn more about ISACA’s global events, please visit www.isaca.org/conferences.
