Rolling Meadows, Illinois, USA (02 October 2014)—ISACA, a nonprofit association of more than 115,000 information systems security, assurance and governance professionals in 180 countries, is bringing its training courses to IT professionals in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, 2-5 December 2014. This selection of courses addresses information security, governance and risk management, and meets the need for short, yet in-depth and intense, educational opportunities.

Attendees can choose one of the following courses to be held at the four-day Training Week in Las Vegas:

  • Fundamentals of IS Audit and Assurance will introduce the essential components and steps needed to perform an information system (IS) audit and gain a basic understanding of audit objectives and controls from a business perspective, focusing on organizational risks that occur from the use of IT and how to mitigate them to provide assurance.
  • Introduction to Information Security Management will help IT professionals understand information security fundamentals and key system security engineering, analysis and assessment techniques, tactics and procedures that are internationally accepted. The course will also prepare attendees to handle security incidents more effectively to improve business response and reduce adverse impact.
  • Foundations of IT Risk Management will describe the principles of IT risk management, the responsibilities and accountability for IT risk, how to build risk awareness, and how to communicate risk scenarios, business impact and key risk indicators. The course includes the development of a sample measurement-driven risk response plan.
  • COBIT 5: Strategies for Implementing IT Governance will provide an understanding of the COBIT 5 framework for the governance and management of information and technology, and explain how to adopt and use COBIT in the enterprise.

“ISACA developed this in-depth training to help attendees gain valuable knowledge from expert trainers, and enable them to apply what they learned immediately to benefit their enterprises,” said Robert E Stroud, CGEIT, CRISC, international president of ISACA and vice president of strategy and innovation at CA Technologies. “Attendees leave with the knowledge they need to drive value through information and technology.”
