Rolling Meadows, Illinois, USA (10 December 2015)—Information technology professionals in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, have formed a new chapter of ISACA, a global professional association serving more than 140,000 cybersecurity, IT audit, risk and governance professionals in 180 countries. The Port Harcourt Chapter is ISACA’s 211th chapter and has more than 45 members. The chapter is one of four chapters serving Nigeria.
“IT assurance, security, risk and governance professionals thrive in a community that is IT-driven and where global best practices are sought. Port Harcourt, the oil city of Nigeria, is such a community,” said ISACA Port Harcourt President (Princesss) Ngozi U.I. Uche. CISA, CRISC. “ISACA Port Harcourt will serve local professionals, organizations, government and students by making available to them the benefits and opportunities that ISACA offers.”
The Port Harcourt Chapter will hold its next meeting on Saturday, 12 December 2015, at Savvy Sunny Suites, No. 6 Nwankpa Close, off Okporo Road, Artillery, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Officers of the new ISACA Port Harcourt Chapter include:

- Vice President—Adeolu Okanlawon. CISM, CGEIT, CRISC
- Treasurer—Paschal O. Mobosi. CISA
- Secretary—Chinedu C. Umechukwu. CISA

ISACA Port Harcourt Chapter plans to offer members the opportunity to attend educational sessions at chapter meetings, training courses, professional networking events, and other professional development and career enhancement programs. According to Uche, the local business community, government, university students and others will benefit from ISACA resources and guidance, including its certifications:
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
- CSX Practitioner (skills-based cybersecurity certification offered through ISACA’s Cybersecurity Nexus [CSX])
ISACA Port Harcourt will hold conferences, seminars, workshops and other chapter-organized events that will provide information and guidance on trends and developments in information systems assurance, information systems control, information security, cybersecurity, IT-related risk and compliance, enterprise governance and management of IT.

ISACA offers certification, education, guidance and community for IT security, assurance, risk and governance professionals.
