Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (26 September 2017) – Information technology professionals in Trivandrum, India, have formed a new chapter of ISACA, a global professional association serving the information and cyber security, audit and assurance, risk, and governance professions. ISACA has more than 130,000 members in 188 countries. The ISACA Trivandrum Chapter has more than 50 members at its start and is among more than 215 chapters and offices around the globe.
ISACA Trivandrum Chapter President Vijaya Valiathan, said the Trivandrum chapter will span up to 80 kilometers, allowing for local professionals within the Trivandrum Kollam, Nagercoil and Kanyakumari Districts to be able to join.
“With Trivandrum being responsible for almost 80 percent of the state’s software exports, it only made sense to open an ISACA chapter,” said Valiathan. “Launching an ISACA chapter has been a cherished dream for almost 10 years. We are excited to bring the association’s offerings to our IT professionals to continue the growth of our IT hub.”
Trivandrum is home to India’s first technology park, one of the largest IT parks, the Technopark, making it the first CMMI Level 4-assessed Technopark. The park hosts over 290 IT and ITES companies, making the opening of a Trivandrum chapter even more vital.
The local business community, government, university students and others will benefit from ISACA’s resources and guidance, including its certifications:
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
- Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX)
The new chapter plans for an official launch on 11 November 2017, in which a chapter inauguration and one-day conference on “Cloud Security – Risks & Opportunities,” will be held.
ISACA offers credentialing, education, guidance and community for IT security, assurance, risk and governance professionals. The association established its Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX) platform to address the global cyber security skills shortage and to help organizations develop strong cyber security workforces. ISACA also offers COBIT, a business framework that helps organizations govern and manage their information and technology.
