Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (18 April 2018) — Technology futurist, innovation expert and award-winning author Mike Walsh will deliver the closing keynote address at ISACA’s 2018 EuroCACS Conference for information systems audit, risk, governance and security professionals, taking place 28-30 May 2018 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Walsh’s keynote presentation will focus on the Big Data revolution. Walsh believes that the future’s most valuable asset, Big Data, will soon be the number one issue for all business leaders. According to Walsh, the real Big Data revolution is not just about the amount of data available, but also the mindset change in how business leaders make decisions based on it.
“The most important discussion that business technology professionals need to have with other leaders in their organization is how real-time data and algorithms should impact their approach to solving problems and making decisions,” Walsh said. “You can change your enterprise technology stack, but unless you also challenge the culture of leadership and decision making, then nothing really changes at all.”
Walsh is a frequent keynote speaker and the CEO of Tomorrow, a global consultancy that advises leaders on how to thrive in the current era of disruptive technological change. He hosts a weekly podcast, “Between Worlds,” which features interviews with provocative thinkers and innovators, and is the best-selling author of Futuretainment and The Dictionary of Dangerous Ideas.
Joining Walsh in addressing conference attendees will be opening keynote presenter Caspar Berry, co-founder of Twenty First Century Media, former screenwriter and a professional poker player. Berry sees decision-making as essentially the process of trying to maximise return on investments and says thinking long-term is the key to overcoming fear of failure.
