Thanks to Google, I became aware of the lunar eclipse occurring on the other side of the planet right now. That's a pretty cool sight -- maybe not as awe inspiring as a solar eclipse, but it still ranks right up there.
An eclipse, as you probably know, occurs when one object (the earth) gets between two other objects (the moon and the sun), hiding one from the other. As auditors, analysts and security professionals, we have to be aware of things that might come between us and our objectives. When reviewing firewall logs, we might be distracted by an interesting website entry; or when we're looking at the change management process, we might get distracted by a new project. Lots of things can get in our way and eclipse the task we're supposed to be doing (much as this blog entry is keeping me from finishing some work paper reviews).
Nothing else -- I have no quick fix for a known problem in time management. I just liked the idea of using the lunar eclipse as a segue into a blog post :)
