Overview

The Membership Committee coordinates our quarterly membership meetings, providing members with Chapter updates and educational presentations on current topics of interest. We also plan annual award dinners and other special events such as conferences and golf outings.

Membership meetings and events provide an excellent opportunity to network with fellow Chapter members and professionals peers - and networking is a vital part of keeping up with current technology and trends.

This session provides an overview of essential steps in Why Cybersecurity Programs Fail? “The operations was a success, but the patient died!”  This is pretty much where we stand when discussing the successful adoption of cybersecurity programs and best practices across companies of all shapes and sizes.  With few notable successes, companies have been paying lip service to cybersecurity, delegating it to IT, or ignoring the issue altogether.  Why? This lecture, directed to executives, managers, and any professional responsible for running a cybersecurity program, will identify the key areas where companies fail, and recommend concrete steps on how to avoid these traps and creating a successful cybersecurity program.

This session provides an overview of how data analytics can play an important role in identifying emerging risks, enhancing continuous monitoring, and automating aspects of fieldwork.

3:00 – 4: 00 - Robotic Process Automation, presented by Windbeam Risk Analytics, Donna Marie Howe, CFA,

This session will cover the various types of ‘bots; the controls necessary to minimize cyber risk; the ways to permission the ‘bots for re-use; and we will refer to governance protocols that minimize or mitigate risk exposure to the actions of the ‘bots.

2019 Annual Gala and Wasserman Award Dinner, June 20, 2019 (tentative date)

Event Summary

At this special event, we bestow the prestigious Wasserman Award to an individual who made a significant contribution during his or her career to the professions of Information Systems Audit and Assurance, Security, Risk Management and Control, and Information Technology Governance

We also recognize Chapter members and volunteers for their contributions in the past year, and announce our newly elected Board of Directors for 2018-2019. The event begins at 6PM with a cocktail reception.  At 7PM, we have our formal dinner, keynote address, and awards ceremony.
