The C-suite and boards of directors are increasingly concerned about cyber attacks and risk. If asked, how should you present and discuss such issues with the board? Also, boards and executives are anxious to understand the business opportunity and impact and risk relative to new technologies. This session will explore ways to discuss new technologies with the board, including the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and machine learning, augmented reality, and quantum computing. In addition, cyber attacks continue to escalate with data breaches and RansomWare attacks being discussed at the board level. This session will explore likely questions your board will ask you as well as give advice on how guidelines for how to discuss them.

ISACA International Board Director Rob Clyde, CISM, is the Managing Director of Clyde Consulting LLC, an executive advisory firm. He recently served as chief executive officer (CEO) of Adaptive Computing, which provides workload management software for some of the world’s largest cloud, HPC and big data environments. He is also a Director on the boards of White Cloud Security which provides trusted app listing solutions, Xbridge Systems which provides data loss protection software and TZ Holdings (formerly Zimbra, a leader in social and collaboration software located in Dallas). In addition, he serves as an executive advisor to BullGuard Software and HyTrust. He was chief technology officer (CTO) at Symantec and co-founder of Axent Technologies. Credited with creating the first commercial intrusion detection system, he is a cybersecurity expert with over three decades of experience. He currently serves as the chair of ISACA’s finance committee.
