2014 Governance, Risk and Control Conference

2013 Governance, Risk and Control Conference – History in the Making!
The collaboration between The IIA and ISACA has proven to be an historical event everyone wants to see repeated, with a depth of content and sharing of perspectives beneficial for all attending.
The IIA’s Richard Chambers and ISACA’s Greg Grocholski (pictured, left) opened the event and were followed by keynote speaker Bhavesh Bhagat, delivering an insightful look into the fundamental shifts in technology, business and human behavior for the next decade.
Additional keynote speakers included:
- Richard Chambers discussing Internal Auditing’s Relevance in Governance, Risk, and Control: Progress and Prognosis.
- Robert Hirth, new COSO Chair, sharing The Updated COSO Framework–Implications to Organizations and GRC Professionals.
- Brian Swartz, of the Apollo Group, presenting Industry Innovation and Changing Business Models–Setting the Tone at the Top.
The 32 concurrent sessions, presented by a wide array of industry leaders, included topics from "Extracting Dollars from Data" to "Building a Sustainable Business Focused IT Risk Management Program."
A highlight for many was the welcome reception, which provided endless networking opportunities. Lasting peer connections were made, while attendees enjoyed good conversation and let down their hair.
Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to visit with the many exhibitors who offered potential solutions for the day-to-day challenges faced by all in the profession.
After two and a half days of learning and connecting, the conference came to an end, sending hundreds of professionals back to their enterprises with new ideas, new contacts and new inspiration. They also left with a newfound interest in future IIA and ISACA collaboration, including the 2014 GRC Conference.
