What to Expect during INSIGHTS 2012

Here’s What the 2011 Participants Had to Say:

The most dynamic, informative and insightful conference I’ve attended in recent memory.

Great speakers and fantastic format and fantastic format – I had to repeat the format – I didn’t expect it be so good but is sure was!!!

ISACA staged a truly world class event. It was very inspiring and also very enjoyable.

INSIGHTS 2011 was able to meet and exceed my expectations regarding functional business and IT professionalism.

Outstanding conference with interesting and relevant topics and quality presenters.

I was so inspired that I’d like to participate as a speaker next year!

Have already recommended others to attend World Congress INSIGHTS 2012.

I thought it was brilliant.

A can’t miss event for 2012.

Opening Keynote Session

The Future Starts Today: Innovate, Collaborate and Execute

Jon Wee and Owen Morse

The Passing Zone

The Passing Zone's Jon and Owen have published articles on Teamwork, Work-Life Balance, and Taking Risks in countless industry periodicals including EBusiness, Networking Times and Financial Executives. They were chosen as a Best Bet for entertainment by the Wall Street Journal, and Special Events Magazine named them one of the Hottest 26 Speakers. Clients such as eBay, Microsoft and IBM have invited Jon and Owen to their events to motivate attendees.

Jon and Owen are known as much for their comedy as their juggling skills. They were featured twice on the gala stage at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and have opened for comedians Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bob Hope, and Penn & Teller. Television appearances have included Comic Strip Live, An Evening at The Improv, and regular returns to NBC's Today. A year ago they were guest performers at The White House.

Innovation. Collaboration. Execution. In these challenging times, you need to be energized like never before! Jon and Owen use the laws of physics to illustrate the inevitable patterns of the economy — the ups and downs, recoveries, bailouts and ultimately the exhilaration of overcoming obstacles. They also demonstrate how you can Innovate, Collaborate and Execute to accomplish great things.

Clients such as Gillette, Berkshire Hathaway, Motorola, ExxonMobil, the Federal Reserve, Syngetna, Quaker Oats, Weyerhaueser, the National League of Cities, Dow, Humana, AT&T and the Social Security Administration retain Treadway to help them expand their thinking, envision the operational environments of tomorrow, form strategy and take action. Location: San Francisco, CA

One of the nicest things about visiting San Francisco is that, although the city is “big” in terms of attractions and amenities, it is only 49 square miles. Consequently, it is easy to see and do many things in a short period of time.

  View video

Here is a suggested list of the top 10 things not to miss in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Travel Association:

  1. The Golden Gate Bridge, the most famous bridge in the world, spans 1.7-miles. Some 120,000 automobiles drive across it every day.
  2. Cable cars have been transporting people around San Francisco since the late 19th century.
  3. Alcatraz, the notorious former prison, sits on an island in San Francisco Bay.
  4. Fisherman’s Wharf  is also home to Pier 39, a festive waterfront marketplace that is one of the city’s most popular attractions.
  5. Union Square is the place for serious shoppers. Major departments stores and the most exclusive designer boutiques line streets like Post, Sutter, Geary, Grant, Stockton and Powell.
  6. North Beach is a neighborhood of romantic European-style sidewalk cafes, restaurants and shops. The beautiful Church of Saints Peter and Paul is a beloved landmark.
  7. The "Dragon's Gate" is the entrance to Chinatown. Inside are 24 blocks of hustle and bustle, most of it taking place along Grant Avenue, the oldest street in San Francisco.
  8. Often called America’s best restaurant city, San Francisco chefs excel at combining the freshest local ingredients, authentic international flavors and a touch of creative genius.
  9. Nightlife in San Francisco is a constantly changing scene. The hottest clubs currently are in the South of Market and Mission districts.
  10. A visit to San Francisco would not be complete without a cultural experience. The city is home to internationally recognized symphony, opera and ballet companies.

Who do you want to see in the Speaker line-up?

Is there a speaker that you've seen or have heard about that is just fabulous? Someone who understands our industry and is covering the things that you want to know more about? Then please let us know who they are! The more ideas on topics and speakers that are generated by fellow ISACA colleagues, the better the World Congress: Insights 2012 program will be.

Taking INSIGHTS to the next level

Hi, I was honored to attend INSIGHTS 2011 in Washington and would like to know your opinion on how to take it to the next level. Any suggestion will help ISACA... What about real-life session between IT and the business? Why not bring both worlds to the stage and see how they interact? And what are your thoughts on a session with representation from the five continents? Five speakers dealing with two/three topics and sharing if they manage them differently or not? If IT needs to talk the business language... can we get a glossary of terms? A Dictionary? Why don't we put up a session on those two worlds meeting and seeing if they REALLY understand each other? Share your thoughts with us since we want to make INSIGHTS a unique event. THE event. YOUR Congress.

Thanks in advance, Ramses

No more death by PowerPoint

If Insights 2011 is anything to go by then 2012is going to be fabulous!  2011 was the first year of a whole new format:

Roundtable discussions;
Ask the Expert sessions;
Interviews;
Forums.

I loved it. I found the sessions to be informative with plenty of opportunities for real audience participation. You know, getting your questions answered by global leaders in the fields!
I'll certainly be going back.
