Spotlight on AdCool (
aka, Eddy Khoo Sek Kai from Malaysia)

ISACA: What do you like about the risk and security profession?

AdCool: The risk and security landscape is ever-changing, and that gives me fresh challenges every day. The profession is
never dull and never routine. There are always new security threats and risks that keep me going and motivated to continue to
learn and improve. Most importantly, our presence is always needed and that will keep us in our jobs for a long time. After all,
we have to take into consideration job risk and job security since we are in the risk and security profession.

ISACA: Before you became a successful risk and security professional, what did you want to be when you were growing up?

AdCool: When I was 3, I wanted to be a runner. When I was 6, I wanted to be a cyclist. When I was 9 , I wanted to be a
motorcyclist. When I was 12 , I wanted to be a driver. And when I was 15, I wanted to be a pilot. Now, I just want to be a
passenger, sit back, relax and occasionally annoy the driver with direction instruction and comments on his/her driving skills.

ISACA:  In the next ten years, what are the top three items in your "bucket list" of things to accomplish outside of work?

AdCool:  I actually have more than three, but since I need to choose only three, they would be:
1) Trekking in Nepal and seeing Mt. Everest,
2) Being more vocal and supportive of nature conservation in my home country, and
3) Getting myself a 4-wheel-drive vehicle and doing social concern work in the rural areas of Malaysia.

ISACA:
Complete this sentence: "The secret to success is..."

AdCool:  Always keep the "little kid" in you. When you always ask questions and seek answers, you remain eager to learn and
relearn things; you want to grow in both person and mind. You can't wait to share your ideas and knowledge, no matter how
ridiculous they may sound. You always keep humor in your own unique way, and you believe in doing good and saving the
world just like your favorite superhero. Make a lot of noise with whatever tools you have to get the right attention and help. Keep
repeating these things again and again, like you are deeply in love with them.
