RE: How much hours we daily have to give for CISA prepration considering december 2013 examination ?

Each person is different. In my opinion, 12 hours a day for a month is overkill. 2 hours a day now is great. Keep a notebook with definitions and concepts you need to memorize or refresh on. Then during the last week spend a little more time getting it cemented in your brain. good luck!

RE: How much hours we daily have to give for CISA prepration considering december 2013 examination ?

I have to agree with EladH.  12 hrs a day in the last month will leave you numb.  In my last month, I spent about 2-4 hrs per day, depending on the topic.  More on the areas I was weak in compared to what I was comfortable in.  By that last month, it should really be mostly review and refresh.  Good luck.

I also agree that 12 hours a day is most likely excessive.  I was around 1.5-2 hrs a day for the 2.5 months leading up to the exam, with the aim of doing 2 full passes of the CRM and roughly covering 1 chapter per week.  Myself and others posted some details on preparation methods and times in this thread:

RE: How much hours we daily have to give for CISA prepration considering december 2013 examination ?

I would recommend to spend initially 2 to 3 hrs everyday and at the final month, study for 4 to 5 hrs a day and revise the topics. Review Material is more than sufficient to pass the exam with flying colors.

RE: How much hours we daily have to give for CISA prepration considering december 2013 examination ?

I took a CISA bootcamp last fall and failed the exam relying on that and prior knowledge alone. (Although I failed by only a few points). I am preparing for the Sept exam and purchased access to the ISACA study database. Since June I have been aiming for 2 hours a day with one day off a week. At least one day a week I push myself to study for a full 4 hours (conditioning for the exam). I record my burnout time and take a break once. Each evening, when I trip across a question I don't know the answer to, I mark the question wrong and spend time reading about that topic and attempt an answer. I usually print out the question and review it later as well (whenever I find a few extra moments in the day). This seems to be working for me as my practice test scores have gone up remarkably.

RE: How much hours we daily have to give for CISA prepration considering december 2013 examination ?

i'm scheduled to take the exam this december as well. My strategy for studying for the exam is to study 10pages a day M-F (about 2-3 hours) and each sunday or saturday I practice for the exam using the exam simulation. What i'm trying to say, take each chapter and divide the number of pages by the available study time. Whatever number of pages you get, try to study them all each day. Adjust study time or number of pages to study depending how well you are doing on the practice exam. Now some candidates may not have access to the CISA exam simulation, my suggestion in that case would be to spend some time with CISA questions & answers manual so that you can familiarized yourself with the type of questions you will see during the actual exam. CISA questions & answers manual is available on amazon or check out the ISACA online bookstore. Good Luck to us all.

RE: How much hours we daily have to give for CISA prepration considering december 2013 examination ?

I am sitting for December exam and plan to read the CISA Review Manual at least three times page to page by end of November. I spend 1-2 hours in weekdays and 2-3 hours on Saturday. I take Sunday off.
In this last month I plan to focus on the weak areas, critical concepts and solving the practice questions. Hope this approach shall give me enough preparation to pass the exam. Colleagues have told me that Review Manual is enough.. any suggestions?
