Over time, business has increasingly advanced the application of IT to meet ever-changing business needs and regulatory requirements. A systematic and continuous improvement program is needed now more than ever to help businesses assess IT management capabilities; identify strengths, weaknesses and risk factors with respect to business requirements; and implement process changes to enhance services and operations needed to meet stakeholder and business needs. In essence, continuous improvement helps an organization focus on "doing things right" and continually improving its effectiveness and efficiency.

RE: COBIT Focus - DuPont Drives Continuous Improvement With COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model

I am wondering how Du Pont manages the continuous improvement? More specifically, how is the work planned, implemented, checked and sign-off.

RE: COBIT Focus - DuPont Drives Continuous Improvement With COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model

Dear James Aliquo and Zhiwei Fu, First of all i thank you for sharing your COBIT knowledge with the ISACA community. I really enjoyed reading the article. I need some more clarity related to 'Plan and scope of COBIT 5 PAM Assessment'. Particularly "DuPont and IBM collaborated with the relevant stakeholders and determined the assessment scope, the management processes to be assessed, assessment constraints and participants, and the type of assessment to be executed (class two). Based on the assessment scope and requirements, IBM established a PAM assessment team with competent and certified assessors, independent from the organizations performing the management processes." Thank you again.

RE: COBIT Focus - DuPont Drives Continuous Improvement With COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model

Dear Uppala Anand, thanks for you sharing your thoughts on the article. This is part of the DuPont continuous improvement program that IBM has supported. Specifically, DuPont defined its business goals, high level requirements, and the assessment scope, through their enterprise planning process as part of their program. IBM helped determine appropriate assessment class and finalize assessment details, based on the scope and DuPont requirements. IBM also put together a team with proper credentials, expertise and experiences in both COBIT 5 and these DuPont processes, that worked with process stakeholders and performed the PAM assessment accordingly. Thanks. Zhiwei

Dear James Aliquo and Zhiwei Fu, Thank you for sharing your COBIT knowledge. I really enjoyed reading your report. I understand the process, but I need to make it more clear how top-management involves.Especially, if the big project perform not good, how top-management involve to make a decision in go/nogo the project. Because such big project, company-wide, has big impact to its business, and in such situation, top-management should make a decision for project in terms of its business opportunity or investment. How does DuPont handle it? Thanks, again.
