RE: CRISC Exam Study Question

There is feedback on how other people have approached studying including what they used buried in amongst other threads.

Personally I used only the Review Manual and the Question and Answer book, for anything that was unclear I relied on searching the Internet for different explanations to help me understand things more clearly.

I have many years in the industry - most aspects I already knew well and it was really only a matter of learning the ISACA terminology and nuances of use to avoid being tripped up in the exam.

My approach worked for me and I suspect it would for anyone with real-world experience.

If you are approaching this from a different starting point to me you may want to say so, in order that someone with a similar profile can respond.

RE: CRISC Exam Study Question

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I'm new to the total IT realm from a risk perspective. If anyone who's taken it with more of an accounting/audit discipline as their primary career; I'd be interested in understanding how you approached studying and was it beneficial to you during the exam. Thanks

RE: CRISC Exam Study Question

I'm in the industry for many years as well and still fail.  in my opinion, as far as I remember there were a few questions and answer choices that I didn't agree.  So I concur with AlexG, this test is a matter of learning the ISACA terminology and standpoint versus what one knows based on practice.  I am going to sit on the Dec exam and also looking at this point if their any direct material to help ace this test.  The sad thing is that I failed by a few scores that this time around I would be really giving up on this if it happens again.

RE: CRISC Exam Study Question

I agree with AlexG and Betsy, just wanted to add that you can get the ISACA standpoint by using the Q&A Database.

Very Bests.
