ISACA is supporting the National Institute of Standards & Technology and RTI International in conducting a survey on the economics of access control.
Provisioning of users’ permissions, compliance with IT security and privacy laws, and maintaining and certifying access control policies consume a large and increasing amount of effort by IT and business managers’ time.
The purpose of the survey and economics study is to inform strategic activities for IT standardization committees and organizations; assess the burden of complying with federal information security regulations; and report to broader the IT community on the economic costs and benefits of critical IT security activities.
The survey can be accessed at http://accesscontrolsurvey.rti.org and is estimated to take between 20 to 30 minutes. All participants will receive a complimentary copy of the study’s economic analysis and final report when it is released later in 2010
