Prince2 Practitioner

Hi All,
Towards a career in Project management i will appreciate heads up (suggestions and advice) regarding study material (or method) for the Prince2 practitioner certification. I am foundation certified and will  like to attain the practitioner status. I have observed the Prince2 project management path is not as common (well known) as the PMP path, however i have found the Prince2 path both challenging and interesting and have also come to see materials and experts are in VERYYYYY short supply. If there is anyone in  this forum who has attained the Practitioner status (or is VERY well informed of the requirements and path) please advice on possible reading materials, areas of concentration and any other information which may be deemed helpfull. This help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Prince2 Practitioner

Honestly I just studied the course material and then went back through some of my past project materials and "PRINCE2'ified" them.  Looking at how my past projects would have operated in a PRINCE2 model really did it for me.  Remember Foundation is about the language and Practitioner is about applied knowledge.  Now to be fair I already had the PMP and more than 15 years of experience when I sat for PRINCE2 but I think that the strudy technique of focusing on "how would this have worked in a PRINCE2 world" would be the greatest benefit to you.

I feel it is a shame PRINCE2 doesn't get more traction in the US, it is a natural fit with Agile and focuses on the customer.  Feel free to reach out to me if you need more into.

RE: Prince2 Practitioner

Hi, I'm Prince2 Practitioner, and the only thing I can advise You to study core Prince2 textbook and practise. Prince2 is really practical methodology, and if only You will not depreciate specifical language used in Prince2, You can feel confidence with it. Try to use principles, procesess and tools from Prince2 in Your real projects and I'm sure that You will find, that You have already used them earlier. Prince2 Practitioner exam isn't very hard. To pass it is enugh to read carefully textbook, try to use it in 2-3 projects, and read the textbook again;). Don't hesistate to reach me out for more info. With best regards,
