Validating WIN Workstation Settings

Has anyone had experience with using auditing tools such as McAfee Policy Auditor to validate WIN workstation settings in a large environment?  Or do you use other methods, e.g. manually checking GPO against requirements and validating a sampling of workstations?

RE: Validating WIN Workstation Settings

I don't have experience with McAfee but Nessus has a compliance audit feature that  you can use to audit systems against a set standard either a pre-set one from one of the many standards (built-in to Nessus) or you can make/edit your own.  Its very powerful, however most people don't use it.
