Information security has become integral to effective corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk assessment. As a result, practitioners need  clear security guidelines that help them respond to organizations’ evolving business needs.

To fill this gap, three leading global security organizations—ISACA, the Information Security Forum (ISF) and (ISC)2—have joined forces to develop 12 independent, non-proprietary principles that will help security professionals add value to their organizations by successfully supporting the business and promoting good security practices.
