ISACA/ITGI Participation with the International Organization for Standardization 

 

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a network of the national standards institutes of 157 countries, one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.

Howard Nicholson is the chairman of the ISACA/ITGI ISO Liaison Subcommittee (ILSC). ISACA/ITGI has Category C status with three sub-committees within ISO's Joint Technical committee 1 (JTC1):  Information technology.

The sub-committees are:

  • JTC1 WG6 - Develops guidance on Governance, including the Standard on the Governance of IT (ISO/IEC 38500:2008). ISACA/ITGI representatives are:

  • JTC1 SC27 - Develops guidance for IT Security Techniques, including the 27000 series of Security Standards. ISACA/ITGI representatives are:

ISO subject matter experts (SMEs) are invited to volunteer to participate on future ISACA/ITGI review teams for ISO exposure drafts. Interested SMEs should submit their contact information along with a brief outline of their qualifications as an SME and why they believe they can aid the process.
