ITIL: An IT Governance Enabler

Many organizations are adopting an overall IT Governance framework such as Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT), However, the question "how can ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) enable these governance principles?" soon arises. This session covers a view of how COBIT's framework and ITIL align and mutually complement each other. George will also provide valuable insight into how you can effectively use COBIT and ITIL as part of an overall service improvement initiative.

Presented by George Spalding who is the co-author of ITIL(r) V3's Continual Service Improvement core volume, and is one of the world's most insightful and engaging IT Service Management and Support experts. In addition to his extensive commitment to improving the industry, George spent several years as a consultant to the White House on technical presentations and White House conferences.

Control and Security of Windows and SQL

This "hands-on" workshop presented by Canaudit will teach participants the skills needed to perform a vulnerability assessment and penetration test of the Windows and SQL Server environments. Over the course of the two days, participants will complete a series of simulations and exercises designed to build the knowledge to safely and sanely use freely available tools. These tools identify critical security issues in the enterprise-wide network. To assist in the transfer of skills, the workshop instructors are available post-seminar to provide assistance. Participants are required to have a network-enabled Win2K/XP/Vista laptop with administrative rights to both the operating system and anti-virus software (to create a directory exempt from anti-virus scanning), an office suite with word processing and spreadsheet capabilities (i.e., MS Word and Excel), and a CD-ROM drive.
