About Us
Welcome to the ISACA Brisbane Chapter. The aim of the Chapter is to sponsor local educational seminars and workshops, conducts regular chapter meetings, and help to further promote and elevate the visibility of the IS audit, control and security profession throughout the Brisbane area.
ISACA (previously the Information Systems Audit and Control Association) is a world wide association of IS governance professionals. The association currently focuses on assurance, security, and governance and provides globally recognised certification in assurance (Certified Information Systems Auditor), security (Certified Information Security Manager), and governance (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT).
The association is one of individual members, often the sole practitioner of information systems auditing, security, and/or governance in his or her company. The membership of the ISACA reflects a multiplicity of backgrounds and skills that make the information systems governance field challenging and dynamic. Current ISACA Brisbane Chapter Board Members are:
- President: Kevin Mar Fan
- Vice-President: Mario Bojilov
- Secretary: Shad Sears
- Treasurer: Robin Roome
- Immediate Past President: Glen McMurtrie
- Education: Loai Al Omari
- Certification: Matt Campbell
- Membership: Rashi Sehgal
- Marketing: Stephen Coates
- Research & Standards: Mayus Nath
- Communications: Jacqueline Sin
This chapter is run by volunteers who are ISACA members. Key roles are nominated through ISACA Annual General Meeting (AGM). ISACA members' participations in running the chapter are highly encouraged.
Building Bridges
We have a number of strategic initiatives under four main pillars to build bridges with you and other associations so that you can maximize your Isaca membership:
Members - Events
We seek to create events that will engage our members including monthly professional development sessions and the annual Value Management Forum.
Other Professional Bodies - Strategic Alliances
Alliances with other similar professional bodies ensures our members get reciprocal arrangements at other events that are of interest and applicable to our membership.
Universities - Academic Relations
We continue to sponsor student prizes across Queensland's university sector for the brightest and most talented students to promote our body and membership to the student community.
Employers - Certification
With the resources of ISACA international in promoting four professional designations, we seek to piggy-back on that promotional material, in the media at large, and with employers and employer groups. This raises awareness of the value of certified employees with employers, and provides the local Chapter with significant marketing clout backed by ISACA International’s intellectual property.
