About Us

Welcome to the ISACA Brisbane Chapter.

The primary purpose of the Chapter is to promote the education of individuals for the improvement and development of their capabilities relating to the auditing of, management consulting in, or direct management of the fields of IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance.

The objectives of the Chapter are:

  • To promote the education of, and help expand the knowledge and skills of its members in the interrelated fields of IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance;
  • To encourage an open exchange of IT governance, IS audit, security, control, and assurance techniques, approaches, and problem solving by its members;
  • To promote adequate communication to keep members abreast of current events in IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance that can be of benefit to them and their employers;
  • To communicate to management, auditors, universities, and to IS professionals the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure proper IT governance and the effective organisation and utilisation of IT resources; and
  • To promote the Association’s professional certifications and IT governance.

The Chapter aims to achieve its objectives by sponsoring local professional development sessions, conducting regular chapter meetings, and help to further promote and elevate the visibility of the IS audit, control and security profession for its members throughout the Brisbane area.

Our chapter collaborated with the Papua New Guinea chapter to organise Oceania CACS 2016 ; the premier event in our region for IS Governance, IS Security and IS Assurance professionals.

The Chapter is one of individual members, many the sole practitioner of information systems auditing, security, and/or governance in their organisation. The membership of the ISACA reflects a multiplicity of backgrounds and skills that make the information systems governance field challenging and dynamic.

Building Bridges

We have a number of strategic initiatives under four main pillars to build bridges with members and other associations to maximize the value of ISACA membership:

Member Events
We seek to create events that will share knowledge and understanding through  professional development sessions and an annual 1-Day Conference.

Professional Associations - Strategic Alliances

Develop alliances with other similar professional bodies ensures our members get reciprocal arrangements at other events that are of interest and applicable to our membership.

Academic Relations

We continue to engage with leading Queensland Universities both students and faculty to promote our association's key body of knowledge and expertise in Information Systems Audit, Assurance, Risk and Governance, credentials and value of membership.

With the resources of ISACA international, increase the awareness and value to Queensland Industry and Government sectors of the ISACA credentials and those professionals who hold its certifications.
