 Urgent Annual General Meeting

We would like to invite you to ISACA Cyprus Chapter's Urgent Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Thursday, 20 June 2019 at 18:00. The event will be hosted at PwC HQ in Nicosia and will have an expected duration of 1 hour.

 

The Urgent Annual General Meeting is open only to ISACA Cyprus Chapter members and ISACA Exam passers.


The agenda will cover the following items:

  1. Approval of renewed ByLaws of ISACA Cyprus Chapter, in order to comply with the updated legislation as directed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (please refer to the email sent).

 Cyprus IT Forum

The Cyprus IT Forum will be organizing a convention for business owners, investors and government officials to communicate and discuss further development of Cyprus as one of the main hubs of IT business in Europe on the 20th and 21st of May 2019. It will be hosted at Parklane, Limassol with the support of ISACA Cyprus.

 

It will be held in Russian, with simultaneous translation for non-Russian speakers and guests.

 Upcoming Training and Events

We would like to inform you of the upcoming training and events, which will be hosted or supported by ISACA Cyprus Chapter:


• 14th May 2019 - 2nd Infocom Security Cyprus 2019:
The president of ISACA's Cyprus Chapter, Demos Demou, will commence the event with a welcoming speech and Paschalis Pissarides (our Board member) will give a presentation with the title “Adopting a Risk-Based Approach to Cyber Security”. • 16th May 2019: 4th Cyprus Internal Audit Forum which is supported by ISACA. Please note that as ISACA members our participation fee will be the same as the one of the IIA members.

 ISACA Awareness

ISACA Awareness Session

Dear Members,

We are happy to announce that on Saturday 13th of April 2019, ISACA will be present with a booth at the 4th Cyprus Penetration Testing Competition that will take place at Uclan Cyprus, Pyla.

After the success of the previous three years, UCLan Cyprus and the University of Cyprus are organizing PenTestCyprus 4.0 on 13th of April 2019, hosted at UCLan Cyprus premises, under the auspices of ISACA Cyprus Chapter. The event aims to continue raising awareness on emerging topics in information security, while offering a networking platform to meet people and share knowledge and experiences. Moreover, contestants aged 14-25 years, will have the opportunity to participate at the Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge (CCSC) through which the National team is selected in order to participate at the European Cybersecurity Challenge (ECSC).

We look forward to take this opportunity and discuss in person about ISACA values and principles.

 ISACA Event

Annual General Meeting 2019

The ISACA Cyprus Chapter organizes its Annual General Meeting which will take place on Wednesday, 11 April at 16:45. The event will be hosted at PwC Cyprus Head Office,43 Demostheni Severi Avenue. This will be followed by drinks and bites.

The Annual General Meeting is open only to ISACA Cyprus Chapter members which have settled their dues for 2019, and to 2018 ISACA exam passers who will be recognised during the event.

Registration will commence at 16:45 and presentations will commence at 17:00. The agenda will cover the following items:  
  1. Introduction & Recognition of ISACA exam passers in 2018.
  2. "Third Party Outsourcing" by Mr. Demos Demou (PwC), Board Member of the ISACA Cyprus Chapter; and
  3. "Key Cyber Security Considerations and the Evolving Threat Landscape" by Mr. Yiacoumis Christos (KPMG) - 1 CPE
  4. President's Annual Report;
  5. FY2018 Financial Statements and FY2019 Budget by the Treasurer;
  6. Audit Report by the Chairman of the Audit Committee;
  7. Proceedings for the election of a new Board of Directors and Audit Committee.
All registered ISACA Cyprus Chapter members (no need to be ISACA certification holders) who have paid their dues for 2019 may be nominated* for a position in the Board of Directors.

*Nominations must be sent to info@isaca.org.cy by Friday 5/4 and should specify whether the candidate is being nominated for a position as a member of the Board of Directors or as a member of the Audit Committee. Nominations should be accompanied by a short CV of the candidate (a small paragraph).
