2017 North America Leadership Conference

On April 29 & 30, 2017, President Peggy McDannald, Vice President Mark Garton, and Immediate Past President/Secretary Charla Berry attended the ISACA North America Leadership Conference held in Las Vegas, NV.

Over 250 chapter leaders from North America attended the conference to interact with each other and members of ISACA Headquarters.

Our chapter was recognized for our 2016 K. Wayne Snipes Best Small Chapter in North America Honorable Mention, 2016 Growth Award Honorable Mention and 2016 Communications Commendation.

ISACA Headquarters conveyed information on the new Digital Transformation project that includes a total revamp of ISACA's website, which is estimated to be in production by the end of Q4 2017, ISACA's 50th anniversary project as mentioned above, CBT certification exams update, ISACA's Purpose/Promise Board update, and CSX Training/Certifications update.

Peggy, Mark and Charla participated in discussions and interactive working sessions with other chapter leaders on topics such as volunteer engagement, communications for chapters, and a workshop on how to better engage students and what the Academic Advocate role should and could be.

A special working group that was formed based on input from the 2016 Global Leadership Conference, the Chapter Services Working Group, gave an update on their progress. This group was seeking input from chapter leaders to further their work on seeking better administrative assistance, guidance, and tools from ISACA HQ, and helping chapters with roles and improving internal processes such as onboarding new leaders.

Much valuable information was learned and will be applied to help our chapter continue to learn and grow.
