COBIT5 Seminar with Ernst & Young

NJ ISACA, in conjunction with North Jersey IIA, is offering a foundational introduction to COBIT®5, ISACA’s current governance framework. The course provides existing practitioners and potential new COBIT®5 users insight into the new framework and explains the differences between COBIT®4.1 and COBIT®5. You will understand the principles of enterprise IT and explain the differences between governance and management. The course will also describe the basics of how to implement COBIT®5 and what additional areas of the organization your clients should consider integrating with COBIT ®5, such as Assurance, Risk, Information Security, and Vendor Management.

Ross, Ph.D, Project Leader for the FISMA Implementation Project and Joint Task Force Transformation Initiative will talk about "Pushing Computers to the Edge, Next Generation Security and Privacy Controls for Systems and IoT Devices". We also will recognize our 2017 President’s Award, Selma Zorowitz Award and other honorees; and, install the new NJ Chapter Officers and Board for 2017-2018 chapter year.

The ISACA New Jersey Chapter is sponsoring 3-day intense review courses to provide an opportunity for individuals preparing for the upcoming 2017 CRISC and CISM exams. The review programs have been developed to assist those who plan to sit for the exams. The 3-day review courses focus on the key points covered in the exams, followed by class practice questions and discussions.

NJ Chapter Receives
K. Wayne Snipes Award
for Best Very Large Chapter Worldwide

Our chapter is the recipient of the 2016 K. Wayne Snipes Chapter Recognition Award for Best Very Large Chapter in the world! Established in 1989, the award provides recognition to the chapters that meet or exceed service goals by actively supporting local membership, and thus ISACA.

Criteria assessment is based on chapter information submitted to ISACA International Headquarters. In 2016, chapter performance was assessed on many items, including:

  • Compliance with ISACA International Headquarters requirements.
  • Chapter membership growth.
  • Educational events put on by the chapter.
  • Attendance at chapter meetings/educational events.
  • Involvement on association committees or with association activities.
  • Involvement with other professional organizations.
  • Member service projects.
