Topic Synopsis: The recent industry economic downturn forced E&P companies to focus on increasing efficiency as a means of survival. As the market reaches an equilibrium and economics improve, how do organizations maintain efficiency while scaling to meet market demands? Chesapeake Energy is working towards the solution using Robotics Process Automation (RPA) - a digital workforce that can reliably execute processes across enterprise applications with unmatched efficiency and scalability. Estimates on initial projects have monthly savings ranging between 20 and 100 hours per process. At Chesapeake, the development and deployment of this digital workforce required overcoming new challenges including messaging, IT infrastructure, and security. The flexibility of RPA will allow Chesapeake to automate processes across applications including excel, outlook, and SAP to unlock greater productivity throughout the organization. Providing a CHK story board, complete with visual demos that articulate the RPA concept, will prove invaluable to industry experts trying to decide how RPA can benefit their organization.

Speaker 1: Duston Lansford is a Business Process Specialist at Chesapeake Energy working on the robotics process automation development team and drives for process improvement across multiple departments. During that time, he completed a Bachelor in Accounting and a Master in Business Administration at OSU-Tulsa. Duston began working at Chesapeake in 2011 in Corporate Accounting responsible for full cost pool analysis and reporting. In 2014, he joined the SAP implementation team at Chesapeake and served as the process lead for the Controlling and Project System functional areas.

Speaker 2: Ryan Quinn is a Business Process Specialist at Chesapeake Energy Inc. In his current role, Ryan has worked as part of the CHK robotics process automation (RPA) team developing and deploying across all functional areas. Previously, Ryan has held various project related positions at Baker Hughes Inc. and Geokinetics Inc. in Houston, TX. He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in Northern NY with a BA in Business. President's Message:

It's the most "Wonderful time of the Year". This is an exciting time for everyone and we at ISACA want to celebrate the holidays with you. Come join us and learn more on how to automate business processes across multiple functional areas. Finance functions are under significant pressure across all industries but specifically in the financial services sector. Some of the major challenges are to shrink costs and support decreasing margins, to improve speed, volumes and quality of information provided, to focus on delivery of value adding insights to the business. You won't want to miss this presentation and all the fun planned for December. Please feel free to contact me at or any board member with any comments or suggestions.

Happy Holidays!
