Date & Time: Thursday, April 6th, 2017 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM.

Style:  Presentation

Topic: Adventures in Incident Response

Speaker: (1) Mr. Paul Poputa-Clean, Digital Security Professional, Devon Energy

(2) Mr. Chad Bailey - Digital Security Professional, Devon Energy

Luncheon: Buffet featuring a chicken, beef and salad selection with choices of desserts and drinks

Topic Synopsis: In the olden days, Incident Response meant having the entire security team in a room struggling with tools and trying to respond to an external notification. Nowadays, while most folks have a multi-tiered SOC, Devon took a different approach by keeping IR as a more efficient whole-team function. Technology helps make things better and more efficient. A process is very important in driving consistency and metrics help tell our story. However, our main focus continues to be efficient incident response taking to account both the financial costs as well as the organizational burden of our activities.

Speaker Bio: Mr. Paul Poputa-Clean (PC) - Digital Security Professional, Devon Energy. Paul PC has been in security for seven years, five of them at Devon, focusing on incident response, forensics, threat intelligence, automation, and SIEM. He holds an MBA from Oklahoma City University and a number of SANS certificates, including the coveted GIAC Security Expert (GSE). He is a hardcore Moloch evangelist, a big cloud computing proponent, learning to be an amateur data scientist, and a Ducati aficionado.

Mr. Chad Bailey - Digital Security Professional, Devon Energy. Chad has worked in information technology for 15 years with the last 3 years being in an information security role. His areas of interest include incident response, endpoint security, and red team/pen testing. He holds various information security certifications from SANS including Incident Handler (GCIH) and Intrusion Analyst (GCIA). When Chad is not protecting Devon from security risks he feels the need for speed in his sports car.

President's Message:

Thinking about a career move? Need a good reading source? I've got your back. Check out the site called "For the Interested" http://www.fortheinterested.com on ideas to help you learn, do, and become. Here are 6 things to Consider Before Your Next Career Move because "Every career is a work in progress, forever". Consider getting a new ISACA certification after you read this:

1. Move toward something, not away from something

2. Look for better, not perfect

3. Pursue what you do when you don't have to do it

4. Chase learning

5. Don't base decisions on money

6. Your next career move isn't as risky as it seems.

Thank you for all you do as an ISACA member and as an auditor. Your membership and continued support of the ISACA Central Oklahoma Chapter is truly outstanding. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or any board member with any comments or suggestions.
