Synopsis: North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (or NERC CIP) is a specific set of cyber and physical security requirements federally mandated for the electric utility industry, but has similarities with many other notable cyber security frameworks like NIST and ISO 27000 and aligns with various industry best-practices. This presentation will provide a 101-level overview of NERC CIP, tying in best practices and approaches to creating and maintaining a secure environment.
About our speaker: Lynn Goldstein, CISA, is the Senior Manager of NERC CIP at PNM Resources and currently manages the enterprise‐wide NERC CIP regulatory compliance program for the company. Lynn’s background also includes internal and external IT audit experience from PNM Resources, Sun Healthcare, and KPMG.
