INSTRUCTORS
CISA:
Howard Duck, CISSP, CISM, CISA, PCIP is an experienced leader with a diverse background in IT, security. He is currently in the role as Senior Consultant for xTerraLink. Howard served in United States Marine Corps reserves for 28 years. He retired in 2010 at the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. He worked in the Logistics field as a Logistics Chief and he served in many leadership roles. Howard served in Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm during the Gulf War as well as Operation Enduring Eagle where he deployed to Djibouti, Africa in support of Joint Task Force Horn of Africa (JTF-HOA).
Adam German, CISSP, CISA is the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for the California State Controller’s Office (SCO), where he has 10+ years’ experience working for the world’s sixth largest economy. Adam has extensive knowledge in the field of Information Security and his record of achievements demonstrate his success at leading, managing and delivering security solutions. Adam is a true security enthusiast who participates in multiple security forums, frequently volunteering his time.
Harry O'Laughlin, CISSP, CISM is the Chief Information Security Officer at the California Department of Insurance, where his role primarily centers around developing and maturing the Information Security Program within that agency. A career IT professional with over 30 years of experience, his focus on full-time Information Security started in 2007, when he accepted a position as the CISO for the Governor's Office of Emergency Services.
Chuck Ritchie, CISSP, CISA, CISM, GSEC, GCED, GSNA, GCIH is a multi-disciplinary security professional with over 35 years of infrastructure, operations, information security, and technical consulting experience. He is currently a Director of Information Security, leading a team of security professionals working on behalf of multiple public sector clients across the US. In addition to his security qualifications, Mr. Ritchie has an MBA from Golden Gate University, is a Stanford Certified Project Manager, and holds the PMP, Network+, MCTS, and ITIL v3 Foundation certifications. Mr. Ritchie founded the MetaVista Consulting Group in 1995, which specialized in IT project and program management and technology consulting services for clients such as Wells Fargo, Barclays Global Investors, and numerous state government clients. He was recognized by ISACA for earning the highest score in the world on the December 2015 CISA examination.
CRISC:
Steve Swenson has worked in the Security field for more than 20 years, performing risk assessment, incident management, architectural, operational, audit and governance activities for multiple hi-tech companies in Silicon Valley. He is an engaging teacher, having taught many classes and courses for ISACA and other organizations in the cybersecurity and audit fields. Steve’s goal in teaching is to enable students to pass the certification exams, while sharing his excitement and interest in cybersecurity with others.
