In an effort to expand the number of COBIT User Conventions and to identify and attract COBIT users geographically, COBIT User Conventions are being offered through ISACA chapters.
Each event is intended to be two days in length and feature case studies and facilitated discussion groups that address how COBIT is used from both a governance and an assurance perspective.
Specifically:
ISACA headquarters:
- Licenses the use of the name "COBIT User Convention" to the chapter for the event
-
Provides a
format for the convention to be followed by the chapter
-
Assists with the promotion of the convention within the geographical area through the ISACA web site and emails to members in that area
-
Provides a recommendation and funding for one COBIT subject matter expert (from within the geographical area where the Convention will take place) to be a speaker/facilitator at the event
The local ISACA chapter:
- Organizes and runs the event
-
Is financially responsible for the event (the chapter would set the price, collect the fees, choose the venue and pay for the expenses)
- Locates and confirms local presenters and facilitators to cover the subject matter
- Promotes the event
Successful chapter run events have been run by the ISACA Canberra, Johannesburg and the Bogotá Chapters.
If your chapter is interested in conducting a COBIT User Convention in your area please
submit your request to Madeline Parisi mparisi@isaca.org.
Note: Chapters should only submit a request if there are a large number of COBIT users in your area who would attend a user event.
