New Canaan, CT, August 17, 2005 - Newly released IT pay research from Foote Partners is featured in the current issues of CIO Magazine (CXO Media/IDG), SC Magazine (Haymarket Media), and the American Banking Assn. Business Journal, revealing an up-tick in pay for applications development, database, enterprise software, networking, and systems administration skills previously dampened by offshore outsourcing initiatives.
"These same skills were losing 7% to 10% of their value 18 months ago. The pendulum is swinging to the other side as risk-conscious companies have become more aware of offshoring perils and are once again investing in critical local skills for onshore activities", notes Foote. "But don't mistake this as a reversal in the rapid growth of offshoring: it is booming. Employers are simply being more selective in their staffing and pay strategies. I think there's a much smaller margin for error in today's business environment, both in financial reporting and in time lost chasing after competitive advantage. They want more control in developing critical business systems and fewer surprises."
