Badges help others understand your level of community activity and your reputation as a contributor within the Knowledge Center. You earn points for participation, such as starting a discussion, rating a discussion, or adding a document or link. The badge you are awarded is determined as a percentage of the number of points you earn compared to the average of all user's Knowledge Center points. Not only does your community activity influence the badge you earn, but the overall activity of the community also plays a role.

ANSWERS

1. Is there a difference between the KC badges and the ISACA badges that are issued for ISACA certifications.

YES! ISACA certification open badges are web-enabled versions of your credentials that you can display on social and professional networking sites, emails or personal web sites to broadcast your achievement. These badges are issued by ISACA to all certifieds. Community participation badges appear only on the ISACA website and represent your participation in ISACA online communities.

2. How do I earn points?

Most activities in Knowledge Center communities will earn points. For a complete list, view above.

3. What do the badges represent?

Badges represent your level of participation in Knowledge Center communities.

4. How do I advance from one badge to the next?

Participate! See all point values by viewing the list above.

5. Why did my badge revert to a lower status?

Your status is based upon not only your activity, but the activity of the entire community. As you become less active, your status may actually revert to a previous badge. To keep your badge, stay active!

6. Can I redeem my points for anything?

Your points cannot be redeemed for anything at this time.

7. How quickly will my points be added after I participate in the Knowledge Center?

Badges will update with your community activity within 24 hours of the activity.

8. What happens to the existing points on my profile before the new Community Activity badges was implemented?

Existing points remain the same and are counted toward your badge level.

9. How can I change my privacy settings so that my points display (or don’t display) in my public profile?

Click on MyISACA/MyProfile/Edit My Privacy Settings. Scroll to “participation points” and change the default setting. Click “submit”; to save your changes.

10. I have immediate alerts set and reply to discussions via email. Will I earn points for participating this way?

Yes!

11. Can I earn points if I share a discussion on Twitter, Facebook, etc?

Not at this time. However, sharing does increase your chances at further opportunities for points such as being rated and creating additional dialogue.

12. Can I share my badge via social media sites?

Not at this time.

13. Can I see how many people are at each badge level?

Not at this time; however, we will keep this and other changes for potential upgrades in the future.

14. Do I get notified when my badge level changes?

Your badge will change automatically depending on both your participation on the participation of all other Knowledge Center members. No alert will be sent when your status changes.

15. Can I hide my badge?

Click on MyISACA/MyProfile/Edit My Privacy Settings. Scroll to “reputation badge” and change the default setting. Click “submit”; to save your changes.
