Initiative is part of a White House-led commitment to train teachers in the United States to equip classrooms for the future
Schaumburg, IL, USA—While AI is transforming the modern workplace, many teachers lack access to AI training and feel unprepared to integrate AI as they teach the workforce’s next generation. To prepare these educators, ISACA, a global association supporting digital trust professionals throughout their career journeys, has pledged to train 10,000 K-12 teachers nationwide by 2028.
ISACA is among more than 200 organizations participating in a White House-led initiative promoting investment in AI education. As part of its commitment, which applies to any K-12 instructor in the United States, ISACA will provide its AI Fundamentals training, course materials and certificate for free to participating teachers.
With one teacher being upskilled on AI this could impact hundreds of students each year, this approach ensures a sustainable and scalable path to national readiness.
“Our commitment reflects ISACA’s belief that accessible AI education is foundational to a strong tech workforce and a trusted and thriving digital future,” said Erik Prusch, ISACA CEO. “Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping young minds, and by preparing educators with the skills and confidence to teach responsible use of AI, we ensure students across the nation have the opportunity to gain knowledge needed for tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.”
ISACA’s AI Fundamentals course covers AI principles, concepts and potential uses; AI-associated risks and ethical requirements; and essential software and algorithms for AI applications and possibilities. Its course materials include the online, interactive and self-guided AI Fundamentals Online Course, the AI Fundamentals Lab Package, and the AI Fundamentals Study Guide. After completing the course and studying, participating educators can take the exam to earn ISACA’s AI Fundamentals Certificate.
As part of its broader commitment to providing the digital trust workforce with cutting-edge resources and training to keep pace with AI, ISACA also offers a robust suite of professional certifications—including Advanced in AI Security Management (AAISM), Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA) and the upcoming Advanced in AI Risk (AAIR)—courses, white papers, webinars, and conferences.
