The Membership Committee coordinates our quarterly membership meetings, providing members with Chapter updates and educational presentations on current topics of interest. We also plan annual award dinners and other special events such as conferences and golf outings.

Membership meetings and events provide an excellent opportunity to network with fellow Chapter members and professionals peers - and networking is a vital part of keeping up with current technology and trends.

Networking is a vital part of keeping up with current technology and trends. The quarterly Chapter membership meetings provide an opportunity for members to hear about Chapter news and initiatives, learn about a current topic of interest, and network with other ISACA professionals. Other fun and interesting events are held periodically to provide additional educational and networking opportunities.

October 30th - Fall Membership Meeting

The Fall Membership Meeting was held on October 30, 2017 at Citi.  This event was two CPE credit eligible and featured presentation by Active Federal CISO Grant Schneider on “Presidential Executive Order on Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure” that was followed by a panel discussion on “Government-Industry Partnerships in Cyber Security: Supporting Executive Order Implementation and the US government Efforts in Workforce Cyber Security Training” with panelist Grant Schneider and Matt Loeb, ISACA CEO facilitated by our very own chapter president Alexander Abramov.  This was our largest membership meeting so far, with a record turn-out of about 200 members and non-members.  A special thanks to the following volunteers that make this event a success:   Amreen Bhanwadia, Bibiane Epouhe, Amanda Naraine, Jeremy Morris, Upen Patel, and Tim Wallace.

Below are pictures from the event:

August 23rd - Summer Social and New Member Welcome

It was a spectacular evening on the rooftop terrace at GQR for the gathering of over 125 attendees who joined us to network with fellow young and experienced IT audit, security, risk and governance professionals. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers, drinks and the opportunity to speak with newly elected Chapter leaders and industry professionals regarding opportunities within the chapter as well as potential career opportunities.

September 10th - Susan G. Komen Walk

The Chapter was well represented by a team made up of ISACA members and their families in the ongoing efforts to help support cancer research through the Susan G. Komen Foundation. It was a fun day for all and the Chapter was able to donate a portion of the proceeds from the Summer Social to the foundation.

September 14th – 12th Annual Golf Outing and Membership Meeting

We had a record number of attendees for this year’s golf outing and membership event. The morning membership meeting featured Chapter updates as well as featured presentations on DMARC, by Shushed Mizra, Director of Operations at Global Cyber Alliance and GDPR, by Tim Mortimer, Director at Protiviti.  The morning session was followed by lunch, golf and a cocktail reception where raffles for golf equipment were held and prizes awarded.  Special thanks to this year’s sponsors Protivit and Highstreet, as well as our volunteers: Guiseppe Vacarro, Chelsa Fox, Jonathan Gutierrez, Steven Cutting for all their help and support. Looking forward to seeing everyone at next year’s event.
