Welcome to the ISACA Toronto Chapter

The ISACA Toronto Chapter, with 2500 plus members, is the largest chapter in Canada and the 5th largest in the world.

As of 2017, it will have existed in the Toronto information systems audit, control and governance community for 40 years, and is one of the most active ISACA chapters serving IT Governance, Risk, Audit, and Securityprofessionals.

IoT - Managing risk and compliance in the age of hyper connectivity


ISACA toronto chapter and Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) organizing a joint session

From connected cars to industrial sensors there is an upsurge in connected devices that is estimated to surpass the 50 billion mark by 2020. This explosive growth in smart devices presents countless opportunities and a continuous stream of emerging challenges. This talk covers the various IoT risk dimensions and the need to have a structured assurance approach to mitigate them.


Asif Qayyum & Vinay Ravichandran of PWC Asif Qayyum is a Managing Director in PwC Canada's Emerging Technology Assurance Practice. He has worked across multiple industries having hands-on experience in managing risk and compliance in complex transformation programs in emerging tech and legacy modernization in North America and Asia. He is an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow from MIT.

Vinay Ravichandran is a Senior Associate in PwC Canada's Emerging Technologies Risk Assurance Practice. Vinay's career has spanned from technical solutions engineering to delivery of complex transformation initiatives, with a distinct focus of managing risk and compliance around the adoption of emerging technologies.

Asif and Vinay's work in the practice aligns closely with their passion around examining IoT and related technologies from a risk perspective and exploring its potential impact on business and society
