In May 2025, ISACA® launched the Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA) certification. The credential was designed for audit professionals evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) systems. This served as an institutional signal. AI had become an established operational reality within the audit environment. The profession needed a dedicated credential because the existing ones were no longer sufficient to address the dual challenge of auditing AI systems while also auditing with AI systems....
