Course Description

This is a two-day course on 3–4 August 2020.

Gain the critical know-how to include cybersecurity in your audit plan, reduce cyber-related risk and put mitigating controls in place. ISACA’s new Cybersecurity Audit Certificate combines flexible training options with an online, remote-proctored exam to help you excel in auditing cybersecurity processes, policies and tools, and provide assurance that your organization has the appropriate controls in place. Learn the concepts, risks and controls necessary to for cybersecurity audits which are critical to enhancing enterprise security.

During this workshop, we will dig into the details of cybersecurity audit. This course will also cover three key areas of cybersecurity: cybersecurity governance, cybersecurity operations and specific technology topics. Designed as a certificate course, it will also prepare learners for the Cybersecurity Audit Certificate exam.

Upon completion of this course, attendees are eligible for 16 CPE hours.

Continuing Professional Education Credits

To maintain ISACA certifications, certification holders are required to earn 120 CPE credit hours over a 3-year period in accordance with ISACA’s continuing professional education (CPE) policy. Attendees can earn up to 32 CPE credits by attending the four-day ISACA Training Week Course or 16 CPE credits by attending the two-day ISACA Training Week Course. ISACA training week courses are Group Live and do not require any advanced preparation.

The CSX Cybersecurity Practitioner training program builds technical cybersecurity skills so that IT professionals may earn the ability to serve in a cybersecurity role. The performance-based CSX Cybersecurity Practitioner Certification affirms participant abilities to perform in this globally in-demand role from day one as a cybersecurity professional who is:

  • Capable of following established procedures
  • Proficient in using defined processes
  • Able to work with known problems on a single system
  • Proficient with antivirus, and has firewall and patching experience
  • Qualified to implement common security controls, and perform vulnerability scans and some analysis

The course is comprised of five domains:

  1. The Identify domain teaches students to recognize, assess and remediate specific internal and external network threats.
  2. The Protect domain offers instruction in the basic concepts, methods, and tools associated with implementing cyber security controls to protect a system from the identified threats.
  3. The Detect domain provides perspectives on analyzing and monitoring network output, detecting malware and incidents, notifying proper channels, analyzing attacks and escalating incidents. It also covers the performance of change monitoring.
  4. The Respond domain focuses on the basic concepts, methods and tools required to draft and execute incident response plans, the provision of proper isolation response documentation and the practices related to documenting and maintaining information related to incident response.
  5. The Recover domain enables participants to master the basic concepts, methods and tools needed to recuperate a system or network, and learn how to implement continuity and contingency plans.
